Summit on the Summit: Celebrities Making a Difference

Sure, most celebrities get their kicks by flashing their vajayjay to the paparazzi or driving while intoxicated, but there are a few that like to use their celebrity for good.

Jessica Biel and Emile Hirsch, from Into the Wild and Milk, are among a group of climbers comprised of activists, musicians and actors that are on their way to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro as we speak!

Why are they doing it?

To raise awareness and funds for the global clean water crisis. Summit on the Summit is the name of this initiative and it was founded my Grammy-nominated musician, Kenna.

Other climbers include rapper Lupe Fiasco, Alexandra Cousteau (granddaughter of the explorer, Jaques Cousteau), Elizabeth Gore (executive of the United Nations Foundation) and Kick Kennedy (environmentalist and granddaughter of Ted Kennedy).

You can track their climb on the Summit on the Summit website or via Twitter.

Please consider donating or spreading the word. 1 cent equals 1 leiter of clean, safe drinking water. No donation is too small.

This is day 4 of my 30 days of blogging. Please take a quick look at a few of my previous posts.

  1. I hadn't heard of this before, thanks for spreading the news about such a good cause!

By the way, any post with vajayjay in the first line has got to be good! :)

  2. That's nice to hear for a change instead of some celebrity getting themself in some kind of trouble.

  3. I had just heard about this a couple days ago! Really cool.

  4. Now that is awesome. Yay you for spreading the word! Clean water is one of those taken for granted's.

  5. I love it when I hear about celebrities doing great things. What a wonderful cause!

  6. I heard aboout this the other day - it is so nice for celebrities to bring awareness about certain topics!
